CAES Ultra Computer Aided Earthmoving System (CAES) is a versatile machine guidance system that can help miners maximize their mining operation. Using the latest GNSS technology, machine-mounted hardware, a radio network and office management software, CAES delivers real-time productivity information to both machine operators and personnel in the mine office. CAES is a technology tool that can be used in multiple mining applications, including haul road and bench construction and maintenance, production dozing, leach pad construction and maintenance, reclamation, ore grade control and material identification and coal load out terminals. CAES can be installed on scrapers, loaders, dozers, shovels, motor graders, hydraulic excavators and track-type tractors.
MineStar FleetCommander Caterpillar’s MineStar FleetCommander system is a fully integrated mine monitoring and control solution that uses technology to improve productivity and maximize commodity value. Real-time interaction with mobile field equipment allows mine management to improve machine utilization, track material movement and monitor daily production against plan.
MineStar FleetCommander is comprised of seven modules, which can be purchased and configured based on a mine’s particular needs.
-MineStar Platform -MineStar Production -MineStar Machine Tracking -MineStar Assignment -MineStar Material Tracking -MineStar Pit Link -MineStar Operator Management
Each module can be utilized to improve productivity by capturing and reporting on key operational statistics. When the complete suite of modules is implemented, customers get the benefit of a robust set of tools and technologies to maximize mine operations and quickly adapt for changing mine and market conditions. MineStar FleetCommander is fully scalable to accommodate a growing fleet of machines or the need for additional capability and functionality.
MineStart Health Equipment failures, excessive wear rates, over-temperatures, overloading and degrading operating conditions are all examples of machine information that when correctly acquired, managed and analyzed can improve a mine’s efficiency and lower operating costs.
Caterpillar’s MineStar Health system constantly records information on critical machine parameters fleet-wide. Data is available in real-time or historical database. Linked with on-board monitoring systems like Caterpillar Vital Information Management System (VIMS), MineStar Health provides wireless or wired transfer of this critical data to the service center for processing and review. MineStar Health may also be integrated into a production database for expanded analysis.
Key benefits of MineStar Health include:
- Saved component failures
- Extended component life
- Reduced phantom breakdowns
- Full fleet health monitoring
- Efficient data analysis
- Improved maintenance practices
